He joined the institution in 1995. He has done a Post Graduate Diploma Course in English Studies from CIEFL, Hyderabad. He has done his M. Litt thesis on "Rousseau' s Discourse on Inequality and the Question of Enlightenment" from the same institution. He has done his Ph. D. at MS University of Baroda and his thesis on " English Education and the Question of Indian nationalism: A perspective on the Vernacular" has been published. He has got Research Grants from Social Science Research Council, New York for Comparative and Collaborative research. At present, he is part of an International Research Network funded by the Arts and Humanities Council, UK. He has been invited to present papers at International Seminars in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Dubai, United Kingdom and France. His areas of interest are in Nineteenth Century Gujarati Literature and Dalit Literature in Gujarat. He has been translating Gujarati literary works into English. He has worked as part of a team appointed by the University Book Production Board, Gujarat State for preparing English text books under the CBCS System. Besides, he has been working as a Research Guide and has worked as Resource Person at UGC sponsored Refresher Courses. He is part of the SAPTADHARA activities in the college.
