Research and Publication Latest Research
We have recently formalized a College Research Committee (CRC) to boost up our in- house research. The CRC allows teachers to make individual or joint research proposals with details of research cost. The proposals are evaluated and permission is given. For example, teachers from sociology and economics department were recently given permission to conduct a socio-economic survey of our students. The Psychology department conducted research to map the anxiety levels of the students.
The college grants leave to teachers who are in the final stages of their research work. Duty leave is given to those who want to attend and present papers in seminars, conferences and workshops. Sometimes, teachers are given TA/DA and Registration Fees from UGC (PTAC) fund for attending UGC sponsored seminars. Both the Principal and the Management make honorable mention of teachers’ achievements during functions and they organize felicitation programs in appreciation of their work.
The College Budget has a provision for Rs. 11,000/- per annum towards research and development. The costs incurred during in-house research are generally covered under this head.
The History Project undertaken by one of our senior Gujarati teachers in collaboration with Gujarati Sahitya Parishad is going to be a path braking work and it will be substantial contribution to the field of literature.
One of our English teachers has recently submitted a research paper to the Social Studies Research Council, New York on the subject of the Parsi Theater. This paper has opened out a new area of comparative research on Parsi Theater by looking at its history in a South Asian context, with particular reference to India and Nepal.
